Everton Football Club and Umbro have unveiled the new 2018/19 Everton away kit in a campaign fronted by the Everton Ladies team.

Everton Ladies players including Chloe Kelly, Megan Finnigan, Danielle Turner and Kirsty Levell feature in the video and imagery revealed today, debuting the kit that will also be worn by the men’s first team and U23s sides throughout the 2018/19 season.

Inspired by the same Go On campaign celebrating the dynamic spirit of Everton and their home city that was launched around the club’s home kit, the video showcases the female players training and preparing for a game, with a voiceover from Everton fan and MMA fighter Molly ‘Meatball’ McCann.

The new kit, which will be worn for the first time in pre-season friendlies this weekend, was also created as part of an extensive 15-month collaboration with Everton fans to understand their preferences on the colour and design of their team’s strips.

Fans strongly supported a dark kit with flashes of colour for an away design, so the resulting Carbon-coloured shirt with Black sleeves and an eye-catching Pink Glo colour trim should be popular.

Speaking about the kit, Everton Ladies captain Danielle Turner, said: “I am delighted to be a part of this ground-breaking and inspirational campaign. This is a kit that any Evertonian would be proud to wear.

“To have the chance to not only debut it alongside my team mates, but to be the first women’s team to be given this opportunity, is a real reflection of Everton’s one club philosophy and their commitment to growing the profile of the women’s game.”

Everton striker Cenk Tosun added: “I’m a big fan of the kit, the colours will really make us stand out and I will be looking forward to pulling on the shirt for the first time for our friendly against Porto.

“I know the Everton Ladies will be wearing the kit in their game against Liverpool earlier that day, so hopefully the kit will see both sides kick off a successful away run.”

Speaking about the new kit, Umbro Managing Director Anthony Little commented: “We’re delighted to launch the new Everton away kit in this way, celebrating the Ladies team, delivering on the Club’s pledge to Women in Football’s #WhatIf campaign and adding to the long list of firsts that this club is recognised for.

“It’s a really striking kit which has been developed with the views of the fans in mind, so I’m confident it will be popular with Evertonians everywhere.”

The kit is set to be worn for the first time by Everton Ladies in their pre-season friendly against Liverpool Ladies on Sunday 22nd July. This will be followed by the First Team’s debut of the kit when they take on FC Porto in the Algarve Football Cup later that day.
