The CEO of tech giant Google has made a visit to FC Barcelona.

Sundar Pichai visited FC Barcelona this week, taking advantage of his stay in the city for the Mobile World Congress.

FC Barcelona was represented at the event on its first day by president Josep Maria Bartomeu who made a speech in which he announced the presentation of the Barça Innovation Hub project on 22 March.

Pichai was greeted at the Ciutat Esportiva, in the Barcelona suburb of Sant Joan Despí, by president Bartomeu; Professional Sports Director, Albert Soler; and Chief Revenue Officer, Francesco Calvo.

There, the Google CEO paid a visit to La Masia and attended the final minutes of the team’s training session, led by head coach Luis Enrique Martínez.

Pichay, a self confessed Barça fan, took a keen interest in the club’s strategic projects such as Barça Innovation Hub, the initiative that aims to transform the organisation into the number one centre of sporting innovation in the world and the Espai Barça, a project that will transform the club’s facilities.
