The Premier League has announced the appointment of Josh Smith to the role of Global Head of Media Sales.

Smith leaves his current position as Director of Television Services at FIFA to play a key role in developing the Premier League’s media rights strategy and leading the sales process across multiple international markets.

Paul Molnar, Director of Broadcasting at the Premier League, said: “We are very pleased to appoint Josh to the position of Global Head of Media Sales.

“He has developed an excellent reputation across the industry and brings a wealth of experience from his time at TEAM Marketing, BT Sport and most recently FIFA. He will no doubt be a huge asset to our broadcast team and I am looking forward to working with him.”

Smith said: “I am privileged to join the Premier League in such an exciting role that will help the organisation to build on its established position in club football.

“The climax to the 2018/19 season demonstrates how compelling the Premier League is and I look forward to working with Paul and his team to further develop the league’s broadcast proposition.”

Smith will commence his role later this year, starting work at the Premier League at the beginning of October.
