SCL are kicking-off careers in sport through professional apprenticeship training #NAW2019

Combining work with study for ambitious learners aged 16 and over, apprenticeships are rapidly changing the world of work. With government encouraging all businesses to incorporate apprenticeship provision into their growth strategy, employers are now utilising their apprenticeship levy to fund their training and development.

Experienced in delivering apprenticeships to professional and grassroots sports clubs, and currently working with employers such as Premiership Rugby, as well as professional football clubs, SCL are leading the way in creating the next generation of sports professionals.

As one of the UK’s leading providers of education through sport, working in partnership with 70+ professional, private and grassroots sports clubs, foundations and community trusts to deliver Level 1-3 education and sports development programmes, SCL graduate over 2000 learners every year.

Recruiting 40 apprentices to their very own market leading Sports Activities & Childcare division; SCL Kids, and with experience in organising and managing apprenticeships across sports and leisure sectors, SCL know what it takes to deliver effective training that creates results for both individuals and their partners.

Priding themselves on giving back to the community, SCL help learners gain vital qualifications, work experience and employability skills, increasing participation in sport and creating employment opportunities within the local community.

A recent Ofsted Monitoring visit reported that “senior leaders have a well-developed strategy to become a specialist provider, offering a high-quality apprenticeship, based mostly around sports coaching and physical education teaching”

Lewis Field, SCL Chief Executive, explained: “We are proud to be leading the way in the sports and leisure sector, and trailblazing with our courses which in turn support learners’ health and wellbeing.”
