Tottenham Hotspur Launches Official Ecommerce Stores In China

In the build-up to Tottenham Hotspur’s 2019 summer visit to China, the Premier League club has officially launched its e-commerce stores on the key online shopping platforms in China.

 

Official Tottenham Hotspur merchandise will be available on the club’s Tmall Store and WeChat Mini-Program Store.

 

The first batch of products will include China Tour exclusive products that will be available online and offline at selected merchandise booths on matchday in Shanghai when Spurs face Manchester United on 25th July as part of the International Champions Cup (ICC).

 

Victoria Hawksley, Tottenham Hotspur Head of Retail, said: “This is an exciting development for the club and our ever-growing fanbase in China. Launching our first e-commerce store gives our dedicated fans the chance to feel even closer to the club and proudly show their support for the team.”

Tottenham Hotspur has had a successful 12 months online in China having surpassed two million followers on Weibo and became the very first Premier League team to launch on short-form video platform Douyin, in September last year

 

The Club also worked with over 30 influencers and gained over 40 million hashtag reads throughout their last campaign as they reached the Champions League final. 

 

China is currently the world’s biggest e-commerce market, with sales growing more than 30% in 2019 to reach $1.989 trillion. On 2018 Singles’ Day (11.11), Alibaba set a new record with $30.8 billion in sales within 24 hours.
