UCFB has announced plans to expand its UCFB Wembley campus with its own multi-purpose independent facility opposite Wembley Stadium.

Plans for the development, on First Way, will offer a permanent facility that includes lecture theatres, a library, office space for staff, a gym, café, and halls of residence for up to 680 students. The facility is due to open in 2020.

With plans over the coming years to accommodate expanding student numbers and further improve the quality of facilities available to them, the building is a significant addition to UCFB’s future. The First Way development will join the state-of-the-art teaching facilities already on offer in and around Wembley Stadium, and UCFB will continue to have the stadium at the centre of its London campus.

Commenting on the proposals, UCFB Chairman Brendan Flood, said: “We’ve seen phenomenal growth at UCFB over the past few years, with our Wembley campus now hosting over 1,000 students just three years after opening. With our ambitious future plans in mind, we have secured a permanent base right across the road from Wembley Stadium.”

The facility will be just minutes from Wembley Stadium and the numerous transport links that surround it, meaning quick and easy access to central London.

The plans come at a time of exciting growth for UCFB, who this week celebrated their first ever graduations at UCFB Wembley and UCFB Etihad Campus. As the Manchester campus goes from strength to strength in its second year, UCFB Burnley continues to support A level and BTEC provision at Turf Moor stadium, providing a pathway for local residents to continue on to a university degree at UCFB’s campuses in London and Manchester.

Mr. Flood added: “Whilst Wembley Stadium has and will continue to be at the heart of our campus, introducing the brand new First Way building will be a key milestone for UCFB Wembley and deliver an even better student experience for everyone living and learning with us. It is a continuation of our plans to produce the best, most inspiring campuses across the country.”

The development plans will be available to view shortly at the student entrance to UCFB Wembley.
