England captain Wayne Rooney has received his Vauxhall England Player of the Year for 2015, retaining the title for the second successive year.

The award is voted for by the England Supporters Club and captain Rooney adds this accolade to his account for last year after also becoming the Three Lions’ all-time top goalscorer, with 37 per cent of the votes to claim the England POTY for a fourth time.

The Manchester United striker scored five goals in his eight England appearances during 2015, including his record-breaking penalty against Switzerland which took his overall international tally to 50 to surpass Sir Bobby Charlton’s record.

Rooney lines up for England tonight in their final friendly against Portugal ahead of the Euro Finals which begin on the 10th June in France.

To help fans celebrate the tournament Vauxhall are giving football fans left without a ticket to this summer’s games the chance to watch Wales v England in the comfort of Robbie Savage’s front room.

Whilst the former Wales midfielder is away in France, he will be opening the doors to Savage Towers and inviting 20 members of the public in to throw a celebratory Savage Garden Party round at his.

Fans will kick back and watch the big game in style at Robbie’s Cheshire pad after teaming up with Vauxhall Motors, to offer the money can’t buy opportunity as part of the car brand’s celebratory #GetIN campaign – a drive to encourage the public to get behind their team this summer.

Robbie Savage commented: “Whilst I’m away in France, I need someone to house sit and continue the celebrations for me at home.

“It’s my favourite place to watch the football. There’s a fully stocked fridge and multiple big screens to catch all the action – it’s a winning combination. Pop lwc!”

On arrival, guests will be issued with Robbie’s standard House Rules including:

1. Hands off my hair products

2. No feet on the sofa, or you’ll have my wife to answer to!

3. #GetIN celebrations to support your team are a must

4. The animal print Savage bedspread is ‘strictly’ out of bounds

5. Be polite to guests – you never know who is going to drop in…. “

#GetIN is all about that feeling of excitement when you’re poised for a big game, the sun is shining, and you’re surrounded by your mates.

“Win, lose or draw, there will be moments to celebrate throughout the summer and even if you prefer Robbie Savage on the dancefloor to the football pitch, Vauxhall can help get your closer to your teams,” said Andrew Curley, Head of Sponsorship and Events at Vauxhall Motors.

To be in with a chance of winning a seat on Savage’s sofa, entrants simply need to head to www.vauxhallfootball.co.uk and fill out their details. Five Welsh winners and five English winners will be selected at random and will be invited to Robbie’s home with a plus one of their choice.

The lucky winners will also receive a current England or Wales home shirt to wear on match day and will be put up for the evening at nearby accommodation. Full T&Cs can be found on www.vauxhallfootball.co.uk
