Purpose of Role
The Commercial Strategy Executive will provide cross-functional expertise and integral support to the both the Commercial and Digital teams in line with the long-term business strategy.
Reporting to the Senior Commercial Strategy Executive, the role will provide integral support across several projects such as Commercial Partnership Development, New Edmiston House, Ibrox Match Day revenue growth, Digital and Data Transformation, International Development (India, UAE & North America), and various other revenue-generating activities.
Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities
Provide accurate and real-time business intelligence that supports the growth of commercial revenues
Support in the compiling of lists of target brands to approach, researching and writing reports including market landscapes and identifying new and creative commercial opportunities
Analyse, interpret, and present data to inform the Partnership & Digital teams in their drive to increase commercial revenues and growth of digital audiences
Develop innovative and compelling data-driven narratives to support the partnership, marketing & digital teams business activities
Create in-depth analysis on potential categories and individual prospects with a focus on international and markets and emerging sectors
Supporting the commercial team in development of partnership sales propositions and presentations
Responsible for management of matchday programme sales via the club ticketing platform.
Liaise with match day programme editor and printer, assuming responsibility for sales tracking and acting as the point of contact with printer and Rangers customer service for enquiries
Update and maintain competitor research and innovation benchmarking
Provide cross-functional analytical expertise encompassing Commercial, Marketing, Rangers TV, CRM & Digital Content Insight to support critical business decision making and Executive team reporting
Work alongside the Senior Commercial Strategy Executive, act as the ‘go-to’ person for the Executive team and Commercial & Marketing department, for business insight and analytics, consolidating insights from a wide-range of strategic initiatives
Support the Commercial and Marketing Director with preparing monthly board reports, commercial analytics and dashboards
General Information
You must keep up to date with new methods and undertake any necessary internal or external training sessions in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
Person Specification
In addition to 1-2 years’ experience in the research and/or sports marketing industry, you will have:
An entrepreneurial mindset and an interest in the business & sport sponsorship industry
Educated to degree level or above ideally in a business, economics or data analytics field
At least 1-2 years’ experience of working in a data-driven or commercial role
A flair for market research and a demonstrable understanding of interpreting data and communicating effectively back to the business
Excellent understanding of social media and sports media analytics
A critical thinker with a strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy of data and insight
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and an ability to meet deadlines
An ability to work collaboratively and positively with others across the business
Confident in building internal and external relationships
Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work
A team-player attitude as your job will involve many stakeholders
Very clear communication and presentation skills
Fluency in spoken and written English (additional languages are an asset)

It is the practice of the Company to periodically examine job descriptions, update them and ensure that they relate to the job performed, or to incorporate any proposed changes.
