JOB TITLE:  Multi-skilled Operative

REPORTING LINE:  Hard Services Technical Manager

DEPARTMENT:  Facilities & Maintenance

LOCATIONS:  Ibrox Stadium

CONTRACT:  Full Time & Permanent

 

THE ROLE

The Multi-skilled Operative will be responsible for the delivery of a smooth maintenance service to all sites at Rangers Football Club. The role will support the Hard Services Technical Manager in performing a variety of tasks including, but not limited to; planned maintenance, reactive maintenance, installation works, seat removal/installation, minor project works and general “handyman” duties as required. 

 

The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach with extensive experience in building maintenance in order to perform the duties of the Multi-skilled Operative in line with legislative regulations and guidelines.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

– Deliver high quality fabric PPM and reactive operational works to meet SLAs and KPIs

– Respond positively to directed tasks to maintain outstanding operating conditions

– Awareness of sub-contractors on site, providing operational support as required

– Internal and external Fabric maintenance, light groundwork and substructure repairs

– Carry out office refurbishment/relocations at appropriate times

– Identifying areas requiring maintenance and providing solutions for improvement

– Ensure all work complies with current safety certificate requirements

– Ensure all work complies with Health and Safety regulations, including L8 regulations

– Respond to emergency call outs when required when on-call

– Carry out inspections of plant, equipment, roof, fabrics and cladding and documenting as required

– Maintain accurate records of breakdowns and maintenance repairs, including records for statutory compliance

– Carryout seat removal and seat installation works

– Complete tiling, painting and light joinery works supporting the wider maintenance team

– Carry out pre and post-match checks

– Take the lead in building fabric stock management (ordering, storage, distribution) ensuring appropriate parts are held and available to meet SLA repair timescales

– Assist team colleagues in other trades as and when required and assist with team development including cross-trade skills sharing

– Undertake general support tasks for Facilities department, including (but not limited to) furniture building and removals, grounds and site clearance, and keeping areas clean and tidy

– Complete minor scheduled maintenance on plant, fabric and equipment

– Assist in planned maintenance tasks using the CAFM System

– Understand and maintain plumbing and drainage systems, for example repairs to WC systems, leaking taps or water testing and unblocking drains

– Carry out all other reasonable duties that may be required by management team

 

THE CANDIDATE

 

– Previous experience in a similar role

– Previous experience in carrying out general maintenance work

– Completed a relevant apprenticeship (Desirable)

– Excellent attention to detail

– Strong safety and quality-driven mindset with a collaborative approach

– Full UK Driving License

– Willingness to complete any required training relevant to the role

– Confident and strong communication skills, both written and verbal

– Available to work match days /nights

– Confident under pressure, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
