The Scottish FA has renewed two key relationships with sports brands adidas and JD.

Both partnerships have been extended until the end of 2022, which will coincide with the ultimate aim of an appearance at the FIFA World Cup.

adidas will continue to operate as official kit supplier, while JD remain the association’s exclusive retail partner.

Given the substantial financial contribution from both adidas and JD to the development of Scottish FA, and therefore Scottish football as a whole, the news comes as a boost ahead of a period of international football which sees Scotland face Albania in the inaugural UEFA Nations League.

Chris Rawlings, Scottish FA Commercial Director, said: “We are absolutely delighted to announce that the Scottish FA have agreed to renew our relationships with JD, our exclusive retail partner, and adidas, our official kit supplier.

“Both agreements will see our relationship continue through to the end of 2022.

“These are exciting times for JD and adidas, as their business continue to go from strength to strength and we focus on qualifying for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, UEFA EURO 2020 and 2022 FIFA World Cup.

“adidas are a fantastic global brand and we are proud of our association with such a huge player in the sports market. It was vital for us to be aligned with a brand that shares our values and goals to be the best.

“JD have been our exclusive retail partner for the past five years and our relationship has flourished in this time.

“Having JD as our exclusive retail partner allows our fans to purchase official match wear, training wear and Scotland branded gifts from one of more than 35 stores within Scotland, including Glasgow and Edinburgh airports as well as online.

“JD’s success in moving into global territories such as Asia, Oceania, Central Europe and recently North America shows the expansion of the brand, which the Scottish FA are proud to be associated with.”

JD Executive Chairman, Peter Cowgill, commented: “We are very proud of our association with the Scottish Football Association and are excited to extend our Official Retail Partnership.

“As JD continues to expand in the UK and internationally, it provides us with a greater footprint both instore and digitally to maximise the Scottish FA’s retail opportunity and we are delighted to be able to invest further in the future of Scottish Football through the Scottish FA JD Performance Schools programme.”

Ashley Swain, adidas UK Director of Clubs and Federations, said: “Extending our partnership with the Scottish FA allows us to continue to support Scottish football at every level. We will provide our innovative kit designs that help players perform at the highest level and allow the fans to back the national teams at home and away.”
