Arsenal’s medical team hosted its annual medical conference at the Emirates Stadium on Monday.

Now in its seventh year, the event brings together medical practitioners from across sport, to pool expertise and share ideas.

The theme of this year’s conference was screening in elite sport with discussions ranging from players’ medicals to the role that screening can play in the development of academy players.

Club captain Per Mertesacker was among the speakers, alongside Colin Lewin, Gary O’Driscoll and Des Ryan from Arsenal’s medical team.

Guest speakers included Sports Physiotherapist Andrea Mosler, Orthopaedic Surgeon Fares Haddad and Sports Professor Roald Bahr.

The conference bought together 300 delegates – from Japan, Canada, the US, across Europe and the UK.
