Axess Partners With Connacht Rugby In Dexcom Stadium Redevelopment
Axess AG has entered into a partnership with Connacht Rugby as part of the redevelopment of the Dexcom Stadium in Galway, a project set to mark a major milestone for rugby infrastructure and regional development in the West of Ireland. The collaboration is a central element in Connacht Rugby’s ten-year Vision & Strategy aimed at advancing the sport and enhancing community engagement in the province.
The first phase of the redevelopment focuses on the construction of a new North Stand. Spanning four levels, the stand will feature bars, retail outlets, and catering facilities, with a seating capacity of 7,000. Upon completion, the stadium’s total capacity will rise to 12,000. A High-Performance Centre is also being developed on-site to provide cutting-edge training and wellness facilities for elite athletes.
Axess will work in conjunction with Conack Construction and Future Ticketing to implement its AX500 Smart Gate NG system, which includes turnstiles and accessible flap modules to enable secure and efficient automated entry to the North Stand. The company will also deploy its Axess EVENT ACCREDITATION platform to streamline access management for staff, contractors, and officials during matchday and non-matchday operations.
The redeveloped Dexcom Stadium is slated to open during the 2025/26 season. Axess AG has expressed enthusiasm about playing a key role in this transformative initiative for Irish rugby.
