Barcelona Welcomes The Sports Industry To SPORTBIZ EUROPE

The fourth edition of SPORTBIZ EUROPE, the Sports Business European Congress, arrives in the City of Barcelona from October 17th to 20th. The multi-sports congress will span four days of activities throughout the city, featuring a welcome cocktail event with panoramic city views, two days of panels and conferences at the Estrella Damm Old Brewery, and a fourth day of field visits and workshops, including the Barça Immersive Tour and the Barcelona Capital Náutica Foundation.

Some of the institutions who have confirmed their presence on the agenda include the International Olympic Committee, FIFA, FIBA, LALIGA, Bundesliga, Euroleague, Ironman, FC Barcelona, Fanatics, Cupra, and Johan Cruyff Institute.

Addressing current challenges within the sports industry, the Congress will focus on topics encompassing fan experiences, smart sponsorships and activations, content and platforms, global audiences, and innovative solutions, including the Web3 ecosystem. Discussions will cover the battle for fan attention, content creation around athletes, the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris, the role of gaming in interpreting Generation Z, and revenue generation strategies that also add value for fans.

 

Among the first confirmed speakers are Benny Bonsu, Director of Daily Content at Olympic Channel – International Olympic Committee; María José Silva Trigo, Head of LALIGA Experience and Activations; Jordi Mompart, Director of Research at FC Barcelona; Bjoern Rosenthal, Bundesliga Head of Product; Ignacio Soriano, Head of Events & Partnerships at FIBA; Mariel Koerhuis, General Manager at the Johan Cruyff Institute; Alex Ferrer Kirstjansson, Senior Director of Marketing and Communication at Euroleague Basketball; Paola Perarnau, Director of Marketing Strategy EMEA at Ironman Group; and Hugo Laborda, Head of Global Sponsorships & Ambassadors at CUPRA. The participation of over 50 international speakers representing the leading sports properties, media outlets, platforms, and brands in the sector is expected.

 

Networking will be a key tool during the congress, allowing industry executives to interact, generate new business opportunities, exchange experiences, and explore potential solutions across different areas of the sports ecosystem. Throughout the two days of panels and conferences, dedicated sessions will facilitate this interaction, enabling attendees to expand their network of contacts.
