Soccerex are delighted to announce that Shane Stafford, Head of Brand at BetVictor, one of the largest sports betting companies in the world, will be speaking at the Soccerex Global Convention 2017, taking place in Manchester, 4-6 September.

Shane will be offering his wealth of experience on a panel looking at the different sponsorship assets within football and how they can be best activated by brands.

With over 13 years experience delivering brand engagement for a number of companies, including gambling giants Paddy Power and then his current role at BetVictor, Shane has an extensive knowledge of marketing strategies, having played key roles in a number of nationwide marketing campaigns and sponsorship agreements.

BetVictor’s “Million Pound Goal” campaign, was generally acclaimed as the outstanding campaign for Euro 2016 in which users, in the build up to and throughout the tournament, earnt predictions to name the goal scorer and minute of the opening goal in the Euro 2016 Final.

No prediction actually matched the correct goal scorer and time of the opening goal but the company had guaranteed to give away £1,000,000 on the Final, and the customer making the nearest prediction became an overnight millionaire.

Building on the success of MPG, BetVictor launched their ‘Golden Goal’ campaign for the 2016/2017 Premier League season.

This extremely popular free-to-play promotion gives customers the opportunity to win all or a share of £25,000 for correctly predicting the first goal scorer and minute of the opening goal in a featured weekend fixture, usually the late televised Premier League game on Sunday. Note if the game finishes goalless or there is no winner the prize fund increases by weekly increments of £25,000.

Shane has also been integral in BetVictor’s sponsorship agreement with Liverpool, after the pair joined forces in July of 2016. The agreement has seen BetVictor become the Global Online Betting Partner and Training Kit Partner with the addition of BetVictor’s branding featuring on the kit. The partnership has also featured BetVictor activating a number of Liverpool’s digital and commercial assets.

At the Global Convention, Shane will be channelling his years of experience working within strategic brand development, offering his expertise to delegates on the new wave of innovative, content driven engagement opportunities at the disposal of brands.

Shane will be contributing to a thought provoking conference programme at the Soccerex Global Convention 2017, designed to deliver unique business insight across a variety of football’s key sectors from sponsorship, stadia design, international investment, the latest in wearable technology and the rise of influencer marketing.
