Clyde FC Ownership Tops 750 As US Network Expands
Supporter-owned Scottish League Two club builds its international ownership base ahead of its 150th anniversary.
Clyde FC has grown its registered ownership base beyond 750, with supporters now represented across 43 US states as the Scottish League Two club accelerates its international engagement strategy.
The club’s official register currently stands at 761 owners. As a supporter-owned Community Interest Company, Clyde operates a one-member-one-vote model, giving each owner an equal individual say in the club irrespective of where they live.
Clyde has marked the milestone with a video featuring owners from Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, Minnesota, Oklahoma and Texas, outlining how they discovered the club and why they chose to invest in its future.
Bob Steward, from Coatesville, Pennsylvania, said: “I didn’t know this business model existed a few weeks ago, so glad I joined, so excited.”
Urban Adams, of Queen Creek, Arizona, speaks in the video about his ambition to travel to Scotland for his first Clyde match. Dwayne Ariola, from Taylor, Texas, also highlights a personal connection through his wife, who is from Clyde, Texas. “We’re beyond excited to be owners,” Ariola said.
Clyde FC Chief Executive, David Alexander said the spread of owners demonstrated the growing reach of the club’s community.
“The video puts faces and voices to that growth,” he said. “These are people thousands of miles away who have discovered Clyde in different ways and decided they want to become genuinely involved in the club.”
Alexander added: “They aren’t simply members of an overseas supporters’ club. They are Clyde owners. Under our one-member-one-vote structure, an owner in Texas or Arizona has the same individual vote as an owner here in Scotland.”
The increase follows the launch of Clyde Worldwide in February 2026. The initiative was created to make ownership and engagement more accessible to supporters outside the UK, with the United States identified as a priority market.
Founded in 1877, Clyde will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2027. The club currently plays at Hamilton Community Stadium, while securing a return to Glasgow remains a strategic priority.
Alexander said: “The club has an incredible history, but we are also building its future, and it has been fantastic to see people around the world choosing to be part of that.”
