These works form part of the club’s ongoing development programme to ensure The Blue Turtle Arena achieves UEFA Category 2 stadium status.

Subject to planning approval, the project will see the current changing rooms doubled in size to provide much-improved home and away facilities.

The refurbished areas will also include a medical room, doping control room and delegates’ room, all designed to meet UEFA standards.

In addition, four new floodlight pylons will be installed, boosting the stadium’s lighting capacity to 800 LUX in line with UEFA requirements.

Funding has come from the Football Association of Wales with an additional contribution from the club’s major shareholders Jody and Carly Johnson of club sponsors The Blue Turtle Group Ltd.

Colwyn Bay FC Chairman Brian Madden, said: “This investment is another significant step forward in the development of Colwyn Bay Football Club and The Blue Turtle Arena.

“Upgrading our facilities to UEFA standards not only benefits our players, staff and supporters, but also strengthens our ability to host major matches and events.

“The continued improvements at the stadium reflect our ambition to keep moving the club forward both on and off the pitch, and we are extremely grateful for the support that has made this possible.”
