Compare The Market & EFL Launch Goal Hero Of The Month Award

Fans of the English Football League (EFL) will now see the most memorable and impactful goals from across the EFL recognised through a new monthly award.

Created by Compare the Market in partnership with the EFL, the award will celebrate goals spanning the Championship, League One and League Two, with a monthly Goal Hero of the Month award chosen by a specialist judging panel featuring EFL legend Robert Earnshaw, formerly of Cardiff City, West Bromwich Albion and Nottingham Forest, alongside Sky Sports commentator David Stowell.

Tom Wallis, Chief Customer Officer at Compare the Market, said: “EFL fans remember the goals that made them feel something from the derby day winners, to unexpected heroes that forever become part of a club’s story.

“That is exactly what Goal Hero of the Month is about:  celebrating the moments that matter for special reasons to supporters, not just the ones that look best on a highlights reel.”

Judging panellist, Robert Earnshaw, added : “Across the EFL, every week produces moments that can potentially define a season for a club.

“This award gives us the chance to celebrate those stories from across all 72 clubs and recognise the goals that carry real meaning for players and supporters.”

This new initiative is just one component of a landmark new partnership that sees Compare the Market join up with the EFL to celebrate and reward fans from clubs and communities across the 72.
