Hammarby Fotboll’s attempt for a top three finish in Sweden’s Allsvenskan has been boosted thanks to a new partnership with award-winning sports science company Kitman Labs and its Athlete Optimization System™.

Medical and performance staff at Hammarby Fotboll use Kitman Labs’ cloud-based platform and mobile apps to monitor player health in real-time, leveraging insights from the system to make evidence-based decisions on how to drive performance or reduce injury risk.

Mikael Klotz, Hammarby’s Head of Medical, spearheads the new partnership with Kitman Labs and speaks highly of the changes the system has made so far.

“By entering data for individual athletes into Kitman Labs, the coaches now have a good way to measure and manage player load each week. We also use the system’s flexible alarms to identify fatigue markers, which I can use to quickly highlight which athletes are at risk and make immediate modifications to their training to reduce this risk.”

Part of Hammarby Fotboll’s decision to partner with Kitman Labs came from the organisations ambition to build a winning culture and be Allsvenskan’s leading high performance team. The development of their new training centre is a testament to Hammarby’s determination to achieve this goal. The centre which is due to launch later this year will include Kitman Labs’ station-based screening and markerless biomechanical products that will help staff to seamlessly collect data from athletes.
