Turkish giants Fenerbahçe are to follow in the footsteps of other top Süper Lig clubs by having a SISGrass hybrid pitch installed this summer.

The re-turfing at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium is set to take place in June, with SIS Pitchesalso reconstructing the pitch at the Can Bartu training facilities.

Fenerbahçe completes the quartet of Turkey’s four biggest clubs who all have a working association with SIS Pitches.

Current table-toppers Beşiktaş have the SISGrass surface in place at the Vodafone Arena and Nevzat Demir training facilities, while Trabzonspor and Galatasaray have been playing their home fixtures on hybrid at the Medical Park Arena and the Türk Telekom Arena respectively.

The global pitch specialists have also completed work at Kasimpasa, Gaziantepspor, Caykur Rizespor and Trabzonspor’s former home, the Avni Aker Stadium.

The SISGrass pitch that will be installed at Fenerbahçe will have the same hybrid technology that will be used at the Luzhniki Stadium, the venue of the World Cup final in Russia next summer.

The Luzhniki Stadium is one of six stadiums that SIS Pitches are working on ahead of the tournament.

Ilyas Kobal, SIS Pitches Eastern Europe Managing Director, said: “To have added Fenerbahçe to our wonderful list of Turkish clients is fantastic news for the company.

“At SIS Pitches, we have become the heart of Turkish football and it is fantastic for us to have a number of big clubs using our services.”

SISGrass is an advanced reinforced turf system featuring patented fibre injections, which offers increased pitch stability, delivers considerably more playing hours and recovers faster than natural grass surfaces.
