Huddersfield Town Submit Plans For 141-Room Accu Stadium Hotel

A planning application has been officially submitted for an expansion of Huddersfield Town’s home at the Accu Stadium, which would see a 141-room Hilton Garden Inn hotel developed in HD1, subject to planning permission.

Adjoined to the Terriers Together North Stand, the proposed hotel would redevelop the former offices and facilities occupied by Kirklees Active Leisure. The plans include 141 hotel rooms, alongside the remodelling of existing premium spaces and 14 matchday boxes.

Current designs also feature a 100-seat restaurant and bar, an impressive glass atrium and gym facilities for guests. The development would incorporate the existing H Town space, with the club working closely with architects to create multipurpose public areas across the ground floor.

These spaces could also be used on matchdays, providing supporters with a wider range of options and an enhanced experience when visiting the Accu Stadium.

Huddersfield Town is partnering with Hilton Hotels through its Hilton Garden Inn brand. Hilton’s ability to combine sports and leisure facilities can already be seen at its Silverstone location and at a number of other sites across the UK, including football, cricket and motor racing stadiums.

Under the current construction plans, the Terriers Together North Stand would be closed for the full 2027/28 season. Access to the remainder of the stadium, including turnstiles and concourses, would remain unaffected.

Any supporters who may be impacted by the work will be contacted once the construction timeline has been confirmed.

The hotel represents the first major step in the wider development of the Accu Stadium site since Huddersfield Town took full ownership of the stadium and the surrounding 53-acre site in September 2025.

The club said the project underlined its commitment to regenerating the HD1 area for the benefit of the town, while also creating additional year-round revenue streams for Huddersfield Town.
