In Focus: Electro UK - Improving Entry To CBS Arena
Aiming to transform matchday access, Coventry City teamed up with Electro UK to install cutting-edge turnstiles at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
Calling on the services of Electro UK, the club replaced 45 turnstiles at the CBS Arena, representing a significant investment by the Sky Blues into improving the stadium experience for supporters.
The turnstiles, which remain in the same locations as previously, have not been upgraded since the stadium first opened 20 years ago. The new turnstiles provide a quicker and smoother experience for supporters when they are using them.
The new turnstiles were fitted with the latest digital technology to allow season cards, printed tickets and digital tickets to be used throughout the stadium.
Alan Bexon of Coventry City Football Club, said: “Coventry City Football Club financed the installation of new turnstiles at the CBS Arena during the off-season. The comprehensive tender process included a site visit to Birmingham City, after which Electro UK Automated Stadium Turnstiles was selected to supply and install 45 new units.
“Despite a limited timeframe for manufacture and installation, the project was completed as scheduled. Electro UK collaborated closely with Fortress GB regarding ticketing readers to ensure all systems were operational ahead of two pre-season friendlies used as test events.
“While initial matches experienced slower entry due to supporters familiarizing themselves with the new system, overall operations proceeded smoothly.
“As with any new system, there was some initial apprehension; however, once season cards were introduced for the first league game, stadium ingress improved markedly, and all supporters were able to enter without delays.
“The club is highly satisfied with the end result – citing the product quality, efficiency of the installation process and customer service as consistently meeting high standards.”
