#InterWomen: New era begins with creation of women’s first team.

Inter Milan has announced the creation of a women’s first team, 110 years after the club was originally founded.

Building on the progress made by the club’s youth academy in recent seasons, FC Internazionale Milano has taken the significant step of acquiring the rights to the name formerly belonging to ASD Femminile Inter Milano.

The club has also acquired the rights to all of the players in the ASD Femminile Inter Milano first-team and Primavera squads.

“This is a vital step for the club and one that strengthens an increasingly complete sporting area which has clear plans and a concrete vision for the future,” said CEO Alessandro Antonello.

“The valuable experience we have gained through our youth academy will be crucial in ensuring the success of the women’s team project.

“The goal is to develop a link between the various youth categories and the new first-team and Primavera squads, so that we are able to aim for the highest sporting objectives in the near future, as the prestige of the Inter brand demands.”
