International Football Business Events Postponed Due To Coronavirus Outbreak

Coliseum Summit, Sports Innovation and SportBiz Europe events all postponed due to fears over the spread of coronavirus.

Some of football’s leading business events have been postponed over fears of the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19).

The events which attract delegates from football and sport clubs, associations and federations as well as the global businesses that support them have all postponed due to the increasing threat of the spread of the virus.

Sports Innovation 2020

Messe Düsseldorf GmbH is postponing SportsInnovation 2020, which was originally scheduled for 25/26 March 2020 in the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA Düsseldorf.

Joint partners, Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) Deltatre respect this decision by Messe Düsseldorf. In close coordination with the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga, Messe Düsseldorf will communicate an alternative date in good time and with the involvement of the exhibitors in order to guarantee all parties involved the greatest possible planning security.

By postponing, Messe Düsseldorf is the following the recommendation of the crisis management team of the German government to take the principles of the Robert Koch Institute into account when assessing the risk of major events and the decision by the state capital of NRW, Düsseldorf, on 10 March 2020 to comply with the decree of the NRW Health Ministry on the staging of major events. According to this decree, events with more than 1,000 expected visitors/participants will no longer take place. On this basis Messe Düsseldorf has reassessed the situation.

“Our partners, exhibitors, visitors and the media can rely on us to act calmly and responsibly even in difficult situations,” explains Werner M. Dornscheidt, CEO of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, and adds: “In addition to the health of our customers and employees, our top priority is to ensure planning reliability. That is why we are currently doing everything we can to find a new date with our partners as quickly as possible.”

Coliseum Summit

Coliseum Europe conference deferred to September over coronavirus outbreak

Taking into consideration the global outbreak of novel Coronavirus COVID-19 which is nearing 100,000 cases and more severe developments of more than 40 new cases in the last 24 hours within the UK, Coliseum Summit Europe slated for March 18-19 at Ascot Racecourse in UK has been postponed.

The Europe conference on the sports venue sector will now be held on September 2-3, 2020, at the same venue. https://www.coliseum-online.com/europe-coliseum-summit-2020/

A decision to this effect has been taken keeping in mind the health and well-being of our Coliseum family as well as companies issuing travel bans.

Against such a backdrop, Coliseum, Global Sports Venue Alliance, took a difficult decision to postpone the summit because our 220-plus delegates and 40 speakers enjoying robust health is what counts for us most at the moment.

We will be in touch with our Coliseum family to provide them the latest updates on the Europe conference slated for September now.

SportBiz Europe

We want to inform that in line with the new regulations and recommendations adopted by the Spanish Ministry of Health, #SPORTBIZEUROPE Congress will be postponed to 25th-26th of May. Get ready & save the date! #Networking #Sportbiz
