Ipswich Town Signs ADI As Stadium Digital Partner

Portman Road goes live with new LED digital perimeter advertising boards and a big screen in the south east corner of stadium.

Ipswich Town Football Club has agreed a new stadium hardware and content partnership with leading digital stadium supplier ADI.tv. The contract includes three key platforms, all of which went live for the club’s first match of the season vs Bolton Wanderers.

Ipswich Town will be provided with a fully-managed solution, with technicians onsite for each match. Content will be created by ADI’s Studios team, then managed and delivered direct from ADI via Live Venue, ADI’s nationwide broadcast fibre network used to manage the digital content matchday operations for over 30 clubs.

The full stack solution will hugely enhance the matchday experience for fans at Portman Road, whilst also creating an impressive and co-ordinated stadium-wide digital platform to attract and maximise value from commercial partners.

Next Generation Product

Both the stadium screen and digiBOARD utilise ADI’s revolutionary new MT technology – a next-generation LED solution developed from the ground up and based around ADI’s experience of 25 years as the UK’s leading sports LED supplier.

This ground-breaking, modular solution is optimised for quality, reliability and flexibility, with features that deliver tangible improvements in lifetime value, whilst making servicing and maintenance far simpler.

The MTD digiBOARD is available in a range of height options making it configurable and easily scalable for all stadium types and sightlines. Ipswich have chosen a 640mm system with a 10mm pixel pitch, with 240 linear metres covering all three sides of the broadcast camera arc.

Mark Ashton, CEO, Ipswich Town FC, said of the partnership:”As supporters will be aware, we have been working hard on various improvements to Portman Road over the off-season. To have ADI on board is magnificent for us. They’re an industry leader in their field and will play a big part in our matchday production.”

Giant Screen

The 33m2 screen also uses the same 10mm resolution of screen and will be located in the South East corner of the stadium. Following a consultative process, ADI visualised the ideal location to maximise viewing angles, before designing and building a bespoke structure complete with integrated walkways which allows for easy access to service and maintain the screen.

Claire Fitzgerald-Firth, Head of Engagement & Client Services, ADI, said: “By partnering with a single supplier, Ipswich get the advantage of an integrated full-stack solution that helps maximise value and benefit across the whole platform. We’re really excited about helping to greatly enhance the fan matchday experience at Portman Road, whilst also creating a world class digital platform in which to attract and promote commercial partnerships for the club.”

Fan Zone

Ahead of the club’s fixture against Bolton Wanderers, a record-breaking 4,848 home supporters entered the FanZone at Portman Road, which included an outdoor LED screen provided by ADI as part of the pre-match entertainment.

Content

Joining an array of football clubs throughout the football pyramid, Ipswich Town will receive a full-stack solution this season, with ADI technicians onsite for each match, and content created, managed and delivered by their experienced Studios team.

ADI’s nationwide broadcast fibre network will then be used to manage the digital content matchday operations within the stadia bowl. The remote management of content gives ADI’s production team the ability to monitor the quality of output and ensure a high standard for Ipswich Town’s brand partners.
