Seven companies proving a wide range of support services to professional sportsmen and women have been named as official partners of Premier Sports Network’s Player Care UK event at Manchester’s Midland Hotel on 9th May.

Premier Sports Network’s Player Care UK event will see professionals from the UK player support network – including player liaison officers, lawyers, financial advisors, agents and education officers – converge to discuss and debate the challenges that face players, and their advisors, in a career journey starting at youth-level and spanning to retirement.

Representatives from each partner company will attend the event, also giving a thought leadership presentation to delegates using experience from their specific field of expertise.

Headline partner, financial advisory Smith and Williamson, will host a presentation on ‘Helping sportspeople sidestep financial pitfalls’ while wealth management operator, Coutts and global travel management and events business ATPI will respectively host talks entitled, ‘Exceptional private banking and bespoke lending solutions’ and ‘How safe are your players when they travel?’

In addition, luxury motor dealer HR Owen will present on ‘Supercars for superstars, the art of service after sale’; Barn Door Investments, which connects sports stars to entrepreneurs to help them build a career beyond sport, on ‘Preparing sports stars for life beyond sport’; foreign currency exchange specialists IFX on ‘Maximising your exchange rate when sending money overseas’; and Launch Insurance, a specialist broker to sports, media and high-net-worth professionals, on ‘Protection tailored to suit every client’.

“Without our partners the Premier Sports Network events wouldn’t be possible, so I’d like to send a special word of thanks to the seven companies supporting our event on 9th May,” said Spencer Hidge, Co-Founder of the Premier Sports Network.

“Each of the seven companies is a leader in its field so we believe giving them a platform, and allowing our delegates to tap into their expertise, will be hugely beneficial to anyone attending Player Care UK this year.”

Confirmed speakers for Player Care UK include Simon Barker, Assistant CEO at the PFA (Professional Footballers Association), Huw Jennings (Academy Director of Fulham FC) Ian Braid (CEO of the British Athletes Commission), former Arsenal and England midfielder Ray Parlour, the English Premier League’s Head of Education Martyn Heather and Manchester City’s Head of Player Care, Haydn Roberts.
