Liverpool’s Peter Moore Wins Top Football Business Award
Liverpool’s Peter Moore was crowned CEO of the Year at the 2019 Football Business Awards along with Dame Heather Rabbatts who received a special award for her Outstanding Contribution to Football.
Clubs from across the Premier League, EFL and SPFL joined sponsors, partners, charities and businesses to celebrate exceptional work in football across 24 categories at a black tie awards ceremony at City Central at the HAC in Finsbury, London on Thursday night.
Now in its 8th year, the Football Business Awards recognise and reward the off-pitch talents and endeavours that are an invaluable, if sometimes invisible, part of the fabric of football.
Attended by around 450 leading football industry executives, the awards are considered the industry’s foremost accolade, attracting hundreds of entries every year from both the business units within football clubs and those professional services and businesses dedicated to supporting clubs and the game itself.
Simon Burton, Co-founder of the Football Business Awards, said: “Every year we review a growing number of outstanding submissions that showcase the huge amount of enterprising and innovative work that goes on off the pitch.
“The awards are becoming more and more difficult to win each year which is testament to our industry and to the health of football as a whole. We’d like to congratulate all of tonight’s winners and finalists for their success and we look forward to going again next year.”
Also commenting, fcbusiness Editor, Aaron Gourley said: “These awards celebrate the pinnacle of football business excellence. Each and every person who was nominated for and won an award has shown outstanding dedication to the game and worked to enhance their club’s business performance.
“I’d also like to congratulate all of our CEO of the Year award winners, for whom the awards are a symbol of their hard work and that of the people at their respective clubs throughout the year.”
