Mary Earps Honoured With “Great Gamechangers Award”
Celebrating not just sporting excellence, but the power of football to shape culture and society, Mary Earps, England international and FIFA Best Women’s Goalkeeper, will receive the Great Gamechangers Award at the Women’s Football Summit BBK, held in Bilbao on 27th March 2025.
Presented in partnership with the UK Government’s GREAT Campaign, the award recognises trailblazers in football who are transforming the game — and the world around them.
“Mary Earps represents the best of what football can be: extraordinary talent, fearless leadership and a relentless voice for progress,” said Marian Otamendi, CEO of World Football Summit. “She doesn’t just play the game — she changes it.”
From lifting trophies on the global stage to breaking barriers in the fight for equality, Earps has inspired a generation. Her journey is a story of resilience, determination and impact — both on and off the pitch.
The award ceremony will be a defining moment at Women’s Football Summit BBK, a gathering of industry leaders committed to driving growth and investment in the women’s game. Taking place at the iconic San Mamés in Bilbao, the summit will feature top players, clubs, brands, and innovators shaping the future of football.
“Mary’s unwavering commitment to inclusion and equality in football has paved the way for future generations to dream big, break barriers and achieve greatness,” said Deputy Head of Mission, Sarah Cowley.
“She has inspired thousands of girls across the world and transformed the landscape of the game, making it more accessible and welcoming for all. I’m thrilled to recognise her outstanding contributions and celebrate her as a true gamechanger.”
