Norwich City Toasts Pyynikin Brewing Company Partnership

Norwich City has announced a new Regional Partnership with Pyynikin Brewing Company at the British Embassy in Helsinki, Finland last week.

As a part of City’s on-going international strategy to expand the Canaries brand throughout Finland, the club and Pyynikin Brewing Company will produce and retail a new official Norwich City Football Club IPA and lemonade.

Both the beer and the lemonade cans will feature Norwich City imagery including that of the recently crowned Finnish Athlete of the Year, Teemu Pukki.

Toumas Pere, Founder of Pyynikin Brewing Company, said: “We are proud to co-operate with the Canaries. We share a lot of common values and attitudes like hard work, never giving up and enjoying what we do.

“We are also happy to present our brewing skills to the fans of the Canaries with this beautiful Norwich IPA.”

Head of Commercial Development for Norwich City Football Club, Ben Tunnell, added: “Our expansion throughout Finland over the past few months has brought tremendous success, not just in the building of a new passionate Finnish fan-base, but in the formation of some really exciting new partnerships.

“Pyynikin Brewing Company is one of the most popular and fastest growing independent breweries in all of Finland. With this partnership, Norwich City branding will find a new home within hundreds of retailers throughout Finland on the Norwich IPA and Lemonade cans.”

The partnership with Pyynikin Brewing Company builds on the club’s efforts in the country which includes a link up with the Eerikkilä Sport & Outdoor Resort which will host a series of football camps from the summer 2020.

The Eerikkilä resort, home of the Sami Hyypia Academy, is a state-of-the-art sports facility located 100km north of Finland’s capital city, Helsinki.

The Norwich City Finland soccer camps follow on from previous successful iterations out in Tampa Bay, America.

In a joint statement, Norwich City commercial heads Sam Jeffery and Ben Tunnell, said: “This is an exciting step. Finland is becoming an increasingly important market for the football club and we’ve been very proactive in our recent activity in the region, as displayed by our ‘We Believe in the Huuhkajat’ campaign.

“The soccer camps are the next part of this journey. The people of Finland have welcomed and engaged with our football club over the 12 months and, with the support of our club partners Best Fiends, we’ve already delivered some incredible results.”

Petri Jakonen, Managing Director at Eerikkilä Sport & Outdoor Resort, added: “It has been wonderful to follow Norwich City passionate work in Finland. It looks like Norwich City FC has come to Finland to stay.

“We are proud of the cooperation and look forward to the first Norwich City football camps in Eerikkilä.”
