Oxford United continues to strengthen its off field operations with Matt Everett joining the club as Marketing Director.

Matt originally joined the club and managed ticketing and marketing following promotion to the Football League in 2010, having previously worked in various ticketing, commercial and marketing roles for Arsenal, Sale Sharks and Stoke City.

Since leaving the club six years ago, Matt has been working for Sports Alliance, the sport CRM, Marketing and Data Management company.

Matt, who joins the club on 2nd July, said of his appointment: “I am extremely excited to return to the club and to get started with this new challenge. From my previous role, I know that the club have invested over recent years in excellent infrastructure and systems for fans across ticketing, retail and CRM, and with my experience I aim to ensure the club is getting the very best out of those systems.

“I was excited by Tiger’s plans for the club, and there is a real desire to grow the brand internationally as well as within Oxfordshire. I’ve already been advising on some new schemes like loyalty and membership, and by rejoining the club full time, rather than advising through another role, I’ll be able to focus fully on the club’s strategy across marketing and commercial.”

United’s Managing Director Niall McWilliams welcomed Matt to the club, saying: “Matt has great experience and I am sure will be a major asset to the club. Having advised clubs of all sizes on marketing, CRM and sponsorship over the past six years, and with firsthand experience of best practice within the industry in this field, we are delighted that he has re-joined the club to further grow these areas. “
