Portuguese League Aims For Record Revenues In 2024/25

Portuguese League, Liga Portugal, forecasts total revenues will exceed €31.5m and presents positive financial results for 10th consecutive year under Pedro Proença’s management.

The Portuguese League has unanimously approved the Activities Plan and Budget for the 2024/25 season during the Ordinary General Assembly held in its headquarters in Porto.

Financially, the document forecasts total revenues exceeding €31.5m, the highest in the institution’s history, with projected operational profit surpassing €1.1m. This financial stability will allow for a record distribution of dividends to clubs and stakeholders, amounting to €9.8m.

Marking a decade of positive financial results under President Pedro Proença’s leadership, the League received unanimous approval and praise. Clubs emphasised the confidence inspired by his leadership, especially regarding future challenges like the Centralisation of Audiovisual Rights and the upcoming transition in the Portuguese Football Federation, which will require strong and unified professional football leadership.

During the review, discussion, and voting on the proposed Budget and Activities Plan for the 2024-25 season, the Portuguese League presented the consolidated document of its corporate group. This included not only the League’s budget but also the budgets of its associated entities: the Football Foundation – Liga Portugal, Liga Portugal Business School, Liga Portugal Centralization, Liga Portugal Commercial and Liga Portugal Infrastructures.
