Preston North End Forms MA-Change Partnership

Preston North End’s first team players are set to benefit from an unrivalled player welfare service, thanks to the industry’s first fully-integrated, crisis management platform, MA-Change.

MA-Change recognises that a footballer is so much more than just a footballer. They suffer with problems just like everyone else, and due to being in the limelight and under constant media scrutiny, these problems are in fact, magnified.

MA-Change operates within a strictly compliant Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework. It reinvests funds from sponsorship into the local communities of member clubs, supporting grassroots football, facilities and initiatives. Sponsors enable MA-Change to plan, support and fund ESG obligations, simultaneously helping clubs and businesses to invest in people and communities to not just meet ESG requirements, but to excel in them, and to get noticed for doing good in the community.

Preston North End captain, Alan Browne, said: “Player welfare and mental health is not talked about enough in football so it’s great that the club is now working with MA-Change who are looking to help players with those issues and I’m sure it will be beneficial for the club and players going forward.”

Dominic Ryder, CEO at MA-Change, added: “It’s fantastic to hear the Preston FC players have completely brought into what we’re trying to do and recognise their membership within the platform can only benefit them both individually, and as a team.

“Through our services, football clubs can support human welfare inside and out, supporting players through tough times and helping sustainable, progressive, ambitious local projects come to life and benefit the next generation.

“2022 is set to be a big year for us and we look forward to welcoming many more sports organisations into the platform, recognising player welfare as a key to success.”

The platform is designed to give individuals peace of mind so if they find themselves in personal and or professional crisis they have the relevant expertise on-hand to soften the impact of the situation. MA-Change has a nationwide reach with its Professional Partners to manage a negative press fallout should a mistake, accident or false accusation take place.
