Southampton Closes In On Record Season Ticket Sales
Southampton Football Club is closing in on exceeding the season ticket sales of 2022/23, despite the club having been relegated from the Premier League to the Sky Bet EFL Championship.
In a campaign that has had several record individual days, the club will have more season ticket holders committed to the 23 home league game campaign at the start of the season compared with last year’s Premier League campaign.
Southampton FC has taken a bold step in reducing its season ticket prices, making them one of the few clubs to do so and demonstrating its commitment to fan affordability has seen over 2,500 new season ticket holders for this season.
The impact of this pricing strategy has been phenomenal, particularly among the younger demographic. This has led to a notable surge in season ticket purchases from fans under the age of 26 for whom affordability is particularly important.
According to research from Southampton FC, other purchase motivation factors include the guarantee of a ticket to every game and the same seat for every game, which is a top priority for 67% of season ticket holders, with 63% of season ticket holders also expressing their desire to continue supporting the team they love, illustrating an unwavering dedication to the club following its recent relegation.
Charlie Boss, Chief Commercial Officer at Southampton Football Club, said, “We are thrilled to be closing in on this incredible milestone in season ticket sales. By reducing prices and prioritising accessibility, we have made supporting Southampton Football Club more affordable and inclusive.
“We are immensely proud of our passionate fanbase and grateful for their unwavering support as we embark on a new era within the Championship. This achievement reinforces our commitment to delivering extraordinary experiences for our fans while ensuring that football remains accessible to all.”
