VSI the co-founders of the Masters in Sporting Directorship is returning to Manchester.

 

Manchester’s iconic Media City is set to host VSI’s third global summit for Sporting Directors.

 

Industry power brokers, elite northern powerhouse business leaders and politicians will descend on the city’s cutting edge technology hub on September 12 to debate strategic leadership of a global sporting city.

 

Sport is cut deep in the Manchester’s DNA. Its two footballing giants need no introduction while British cycling is proud to be housed in the spectacular velodrome. Old Trafford Cricket ground, home of Lancashire CCC is one of the truly great Test arenas in the world.

 

The 2002 Commonwealth Games were a key turning point in the Manchester regeneration project. The event cemented the relationship between sport, business and politics which has been at the heart of Manchester’s remarkable transformation.

 

From the National Football Museum to the Etihad Campus, sporting and business collaborations continue to bring in visitors, fund vital developments and attract major international investment.

 

Moving forward, these partnerships have a key role to play in further strengthening the local economy and developing the next generation of sporting, business and political leaders.

 

Fifteen years on from the Commonwealth Games, the VSI Sporting Directors Summit will provide an excellent opportunity to reflect on the city’s many accomplishments and to look ahead to the future.
