Stockport County To Get Huge Digital Stadium Upgrade By ADI

Stockport County are celebrating their promotion to EFL League One with a significant upgrade of the stadium digital platform within Edgeley Park.

The upgrade is part of a broader improvement plan for the venue, which has followed extensive consultation with fans and the local community and will see the stadium expand stadium capacity and facilities in line with the on-pitch success.

Work on the new digital platform will begin in the coming weeks. Initially, ADI will install a temporary system at Edgeley Park while the 4-sided perimeter system is manufactured to specification.

This will allow Stockport County to promote club partners from the start of the new season, with the installation to be completed later in 2024.

A new screen will replace an existing one whilst providing a significant 22% uplift in size to 81sq.m. which will make it the largest stadium LED screen in League One.

Meanwhile, the digital perimeter replaces existing static advertising, providing a completely new commercial platform for the club.

Whilst the latest EFL broadcast deal will see an increasing number of televised matches throughout the Leagues, the club will primarily use the digiBOARD platform for activating local club partnerships.

ADI have worked closely with the club’s commercial team to help model a tiered “Business Club” promotional offering, which will see space and time on the boards and screen offered within defined commercial packages for businesses wishing to associate with the continued success of Stockport County FC.

“Following the club’s success in recent seasons, Edgeley Park is currently undergoing significant upgrades; in the modern stadium digital is an important part of the matchday experience,” said, Tom Mahon, Chief Operating Officer at Stockport County.

“ADI haven’t just offered us hardware, they have provided a complete solution. Having defined the different technology opportunities, they helped us to map out a complete commercial offering that will ensure we will create value and generate income across the platform. This is a similar model that has been proven in other EFL clubs, so we have complete confidence in our commercial team to be able to deliver it.

“We pride ourselves as a community club and we’re excited that the new platform will improve the matchday experience for our fans as well as providing opportunities for businesses within the local area to associate themselves with the club’s continued success.”

Claire Fitzgerald-Firth, Head of Engagement & Client Services at ADI, added: “The new installation at Edgeley Park with give Stockport County one of the biggest and best platforms across the EFL, not just League One.

“This is just the beginning though; we’re looking forward to working with the club to help them make the most of it throughout the coming seasons.”
