The Anfield Wrap’s ‘JÜRGEN’ Documentary Finale Released
The final two episodes of a five part docu-series, JÜRGEN, will be released to The Anfield Wrap app and subscription service this week.
The first three episodes were released back in December, with the first instalment ‘The Challenge’ amassing over 193,000 views on YouTube. To precede this next phase of releases, ‘The Blueprint’ and ‘The Journey’ will also be released for free.
Supported by ERDINGER, TAW travelled to Glatten, Frankfurt, Mainz, Dortmund and around Liverpool to hear unique stories from the German’s journey, told by those who know him best.
Alongside over 30 feature-length interviews used in the first phase of releases, the team have since secured interviews with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard and The Reds’ vice-captain James Milner.
Episode four relives the comeback against Barcelona, winning the Champions League in Madrid, and lifting the Premier League behind closed doors, alongside promotion with Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund’s back-to-back Bundesliga successes.
Milner said: “You look at his track record and how he went about things. How we were training was different to what we’d done, we were training very hard. Under Brendan, it was fantastic training, we had some great sessions, but it was a different style of training, you had to adapt to that. We picked up a few injuries, but it was like, ‘this is the way we do it’.”
Episode five is the finale in the series, highlighting the lasting impact that Klopp has left on each of the places, with intimate stories that sum up the man, the manager and the leader.
Gerrard said: “The way he spoke about the city, the club, what he was going to bring. He was grasping the players straightaway, like he doesn’t want fear, he wants belief, he wants to project forward. Listening to that interview, as an ex-player, it was getting my juices flowing.”
