The most reputable clubs such as Manchester United and Liverpool have received the most lucrative deals for many years. However, modern highflyers like Manchester City have quickly made up ground to earn their own big-money kit sponsor contract.

Ahead of the 2023/24 season, some teams have penned fresh terms with their designated kit manufacturer, and others have long-standing ones that will continue to run for several years yet.

Manchester United

The Red Devils renewed their long-standing partnership with sportswear giant Adidas this year. United’s 10-year deal equating to £90 million per year, means they have the biggest kit deal financially in the Premier League.

This is no surprise considering the club’s huge level of worldwide sport, and the fact that Erik Ten Hag has the team back on an upward trajectory. United are expected to challenge for the title next season, in bets for football tonight they are offered at 17/2 to lift their 21st top-flight title.

United’s upcoming return to the UEFA Champions League in the 2023/24 season will have surely influenced the figures in their deal with Adidas. The manufacturer will now create all of United’s strips until 2033 at least.

Adidas took over as the team’s kit provider in 2015 and has now made certain that it will be a key source of revenue for the Red Devils well into the 2030s.

Manchester City

United’s city rivals Manchester City penned a deal with Puma in 2019 which entitled them to £65 million per year over a decade-long period. In return, Puma has supplied City’s kits through the most successful period in their history.

City is lagging behind their historically superior rivals by £25 million per year, however, their UCL triumph this year and their sustained success in English football, could see them renegotiate terms with Puma in the near future.

Pep Guardiola’s side has gradually forced their rivals into their shadow in the last few years, don’t be surprised if they eventually dominate off-the-field sponsorships too.

Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal

Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal all currently have ongoing kit deals that equate to £60 million of incoming revenue per annum.

Liverpool’s partnership with Nike started in 2020 and will run until 2026 at least. But Liverpool as England’s other major club historically alongside United, will maybe be asking for a return to the negotiation table in the near future.

Chelsea’s kit deal with Nike began in 2017 and will run until 2032 – their entire contract is worth the same as United’s with Adidas. However, the Blues will receive £900 million over 15 years rather than 10 in the Red Devils’ case.

Arsenal receive £60 million per year from Adidas, who have made them an ideal mix of classical and unique designs throughout the deal. The Gunners deal began in 2019 and is due to expire next year, and Mikel Arteta’s highflyers are certainly deserving of improved terms.

The biggest kit deals in the Premier League are dominated by the clubs that are traditionally the biggest and most widely supported. Out of the renowned ‘big six’ only Tottenham Hotspur are lagging behind, the other five clubs boast deals that could rival any major club across the globe.
