TicketCo TV Helps Altrincham FC Live Stream Home League Fixtures

National League club Altrincham FC will live stream all its home fixtures this season to a global audience online via TicketCo TV.

The partnership will see TicketCo provide the Manchester-based club with HD-quality streaming directly into the homes of home and away supporters.

The club’s loyal season ticket holders will be entitled to a free access code that enables them to watch games on any device, while non-season ticket holders and away fans can watch games on a pay-per-view basis.

The partnership will help generate revenue and enable access for supporters during Covid-19 and beyond. Altrincham FC’s opening fixture was streamed by 749 users across the UK-based to as far away as Norway, Canada and even Afghanistan.

Altrincham FC co-chairman Bill Waterson described live streaming as an essential part of any non-league club’s business model this season, stating: “We realised quite quickly that a pay-per-view live streaming service was essential if a club is to maximise revenue from games, especially while supporters are not permitted to attend.

“We wanted to use our own broadcast capabilities by using our own cameramen and commentators, but at the same time we required a strong commercial model. TicketCo fit the bill for all our requirements and we are delighted to be working with them.

“TicketCo’s platform allows us to upsell products like programmes too, so there is an option for us to maximise revenue from other channels which we are keen to explore.

Now we know we have established a quality streaming and payments partnership with TicketCo, we want to do a lot more with regards to what we offer to fans digitally.”

Joe Edwards, TicketCo Senior Key Account Manager, said: “Our pay-per-view live streaming platform provides clubs with the means to generate revenue and engage with its fan-base. We are proud to have partnered with Altrincham FC and provided it with the tools to be in full control of its digital content and streaming capabilities.

“The club has big plans to expand on its current service by adding fresh camera angles and graphics for supporters to enjoy, and we look forward to helping the club grow its revenues and fanbase via technology.”

Mr Waterson, added: “Our partnership with TicketCo proves that you don’t have to be a big club to provide a professional service to supporters. Clubs must immediately prioritise live streaming as a vital revenue stream. You don’t need a massive team behind the operation, it can be cost effective, and with TicketCo’s support we are now treating this service as a vital means of income for the club.”
