The company’s Away Ticketing service has been shortlisted in the Sports Innovation Award and Sports Technology of the Year categories.

“We’re delighted to have been shortlisted in two categories at this year’s Sports Business Awards,” said Chris Gratton, Managing Director, Ticketmaster Sport UK.

“The awards champion resilience, adaptability and resourcefulness, and Away Ticketing is a prime example of Ticketmaster’s continuous investment into innovative, fan-friendly technology to solve challenges regularly experienced by clubs up and down the country.”

Chris Brewer, Head of Media and Ticketing at Peterborough FC, commented: “This has to be the way forward for selling away tickets. There was no need to print thousands of tickets in advance, we had no duplicate tickets at all to deal with and absolutely no collections.”

Fulfilling away tickets has traditionally been a challenge in ticket offices across the UK. Ticketmaster’s technology allows fans to purchase away tickets directly through their team’s website, eliminating the need for separate ticketing systems for different clubs.

This technology not only makes it easier for fans to purchase tickets but also for clubs to manage their own ticket allocation more efficiently.

This is the second time this year Ticketmaster Sport’s Away Ticketing technology has been nominated for an award.

The results of the Sports Business Awards will be announced on 10th November 2023.
