Tottenham Hotspur Offering Cashback To Fans For Green Travel Options
Tottenham Hotspur and its Official Payment Partner, AstroPay, are providing the club’s supporters with money back when they travel by public transport to home matches for the remainder of 2023.
Fans can now take advantage of an exclusive offer of up to £12 cashback for the first 2,000 users on TFL journeys made on the following home matchdays when using the new Spurs-branded AstroPay card – Aston Villa (26 November), West Ham United (7 December), Newcastle United (December 10), Everton (December 23) and AFC Bournemouth (31 December).
It is one of a wide range of club benefits available to AstroPay card users, while also encouraging fans to choose greener travel options to matches.
Tottenham Hotspur has been named the Premier League’s greenest club by Sport Positive for the past four years running and is a signatory of the UN Sports for Climate Action Framework, committed to halving greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and become net zero by 2040.
Fan travel currently accounts for 47% of the club’s total tCO2e footprint and it is working with partners including AstroPay to encourage greener travel to matches.
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is a green travel destination, served by four rail stations in walking distance – White Hart Lane, Northumberland Park, Tottenham Hale and Seven Sisters – all with direct links into central London.
High-frequency TfL bus routes also serve the stadium, as well as a free matchday shuttle bus services that operates from Wood Green and Alexandra Palace rail stations.
Fans can sign up for a Spurs-branded prepaid card at AstroPay, verify their account and then request a digital card that can be added to Google Pay or Apple Pay ready for use.
On signing up for a prepaid card, fans will also instantly receive a 20% discount to use in the Spurs Shop (online and in-store) and early pre-sale access to the F1 DRIVE – London attraction opening at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the new year.
Non-UK card holders will also receive a complimentary one-year One Hotspur Connect membership – a new membership option for international fans.
