UCFB Launch Partnership With Industry Leaders Soccerex

UCFB and its Global Institute of Sport (GIS) are delighted to announce a partnership with Soccerex, the global leader in the business of football. Each year, Soccerex bring professionals from the global football industry together to network in a unique commercial environment in different locations around the world.

By collaborating with the organisation, who have an unrivalled network of football business professionals built over 26 years, UCFB are adding to their extensive portfolio of partners and furthering the network of industry leaders that our students have access to.

The partnership will also see Soccerex members of staff giving exclusive guest speaker sessions to the UCFB community, at large scale events, specific sector focused gatherings and various other content-based platforms.

For UCFB’s BA (Hons) Sports Business & Sports Broadcasting students, in particular, this partnership provides a fresh opportunity to deliver live productions with leaders from the sporting world through the new Soccerex TV platform. UCFB students will gain valuable experience producing Soccerex TV at UCFB’s Wembley Campus. With these regular broadcasts and networking events, Soccerex will help facilitate our students’ paths to full-time employment in the industry.

Soccerex CEO Patrick McCreanor said “We are delighted to make our partnership with UCFB official, tightening an already fantastic relationship.  Becoming more involved in the sports education sector is part of our long-term strategy, opening up opportunities for the next generation of sports business professionals and we feel that working with UCFB and GIS provides us with the ideal organisation to explore that with.

With both of our spiritual homes being in London, but an ever-increasing foothold in the American market and particular bases in Miami, in addition to us both already hosting successful events in the US this year, it promises to be a wonderful strike partnership.

Further to providing experience to students through our events and opportunities to network with our partners and clients, kick starting the new era with Soccerex TV, our new broadcasting platform that will enable us to communicate with the global football industry on a more regular, direct and engaging basis, is wonderfully exciting.

Lastly, it would be remiss of us not to say that we expect to be at the front of the queue when it comes to snapping up the top talent being produced by UCFB and GIS, who are already demonstrating their potential to us.”

UCFB and its Global Institute of Sport is a world-first in higher education, offering undergraduate, postgraduate and online degrees in the football and sports industry. From media and marketing to coaching and management, UCFB’s pioneering programmes enable you to kick start your career in any sector of sport.

With alumni currently working at 19 of the 20 Premier League clubs, as well as the likes of Sky Sports, Formula One and FIFA, UCFB’s industry-orientated degrees and ever-growing network are designed to kick start careers in this thriving industry. Soccerex events will help provide our network with a variety of formal and informal platforms to help build and strengthen professional relationships.

We are also excited to work on future global events in collaboration with the organisation, bringing their fascinating work to new audiences through our global network. After attending Soccerex’s annual event in Miami earlier this year, and expanding our community in North America, we’re keen to build the relationship and our overseas contacts.

“Our partnership with Soccerex will provide unparalleled opportunities for UCFB & GIS students and provide a wider access to leaders in the sports industry from around the globe,” said Sharona Friedman, President, Global Institute of Sport.

“Having had first-hand experience of working with Soccerex over the past few years, including co-hosting the pre-Soccerex Miami event at Inter Miami’s DRV PNK Stadium in March, we were always keen to bring their network into the UCFB family. We look forward to the valuable experience that the partnership will bring for our students.”
