Udinese Transforms Bluenergy Stadium Into Premier Multifunctional Venue

Concerts returned last week to the stadium after a 12-year hiatus with rugby and football Italian national teams marking their comeback to Udine in 2024 for international matches.

The Bluenergy Stadium is in the spotlight in Italy with the return of concerts and rugby and football national teams to one the most sustainable stadiums in the country.

As a pivotal landmark, not just locally but nationally and internationally, the Udinese stadium captures widespread interest across Udine and Friuli-Venezia Giulia, thanks to its array of hosted and planned major events.

Highlights include the return of concerts after more than a decade. The exclusive events drew tens of thousands, underscoring Udine and Bluenergy Stadium as prime venues for grand spectacles.

Functioning as an incubator for diverse projects, the stadium enhances regional prestige year-round with meetings, gatherings, and conventions. Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani hailed it as “the Bernabeu of the Northeast” during his visit for the Giro d’Italia stage presentation in May.

Looking ahead, autumn awaits with significant events lined up. The Bluenergy Stadium eagerly anticipates the return of Italy’s national rugby team, marking their first appearance at the venue since 2009.

Moreover, football returns in full force as the Azzurri, led by coach Luciano Spalletti, grace the pitch after a five-year hiatus, scheduled for October’s UEFA Nations League.

All these endeavors champion sustainability, both socially and environmentally, exemplified by the upcoming solar park installation on the stadium’s roof.

With over 2400 photovoltaic panels, Bluenergy Stadium is poised to become Italy’s first carbon-neutral facility, enhancing its international stature and local pride.
