Everton Football Club have joined Snapchat in a bid to communicate more effectively with younger fans.

The Toffees’ decision to join the mobile-only media-sharing app was taken following consultations with the club’s independent panel of young Blues, with the group providing ideas and feedback on content, tone and the design of the profile picture (above).

Everton are the only Premier League side to have a Junior Fans’ Forum, with the initiative now in its third season.

With 10 new members each year, the Toffees aged 11-16 gather in the school holidays to discuss a number of topics from making matchdays at Goodison more memorable to coming up with exciting event ideas and much, much more.

The Blues’ Snapchat account is now live and will become active from the next home game – Saturday 5 March against West Ham United.

Everton’s Head of Content, Scott McLeod, said: “The role of the Junior Fans’ Forum was pivotal in our move on to Snapchat.

“The feedback and guidance our junior fans have provided has been crucial in ensuring the club’s official Snapchat account is managed in a way that ensures the social media app offers a different and varied insight into Everton on match days and beyond.”
