Football In The Community Online Conference

fcbusiness and Geoff Wilson Consultancy get set to host our first Football in the Community Online Conference.

Football has always played a vital role in the areas in which they exist and the Community Foundation or Trusts of those clubs have further stretched that reach and good work.

However, the last 18 months have been a true test for everyone and when it mattered most football stepped up to help.

fcbusiness and Geoff Wilson Consultancy have worked together over the course of the pandemic to help share stories of the magnificent work clubs have been doing in the community throughout the pandemic.

On 31st August 2021, fcbusiness & Geoff Wilson Consultancy will be hosting our very first Football in the Community Online Conference.

Speaking of the conference, Geoff Wilson, said: “Football plays a hugely important role in people’s lives, not just in the UK, but across the world. It brings joy and happiness to young and old alike.

“The last 18 months have been incredibly difficult due to the coronavirus pandemic and has shown how important and valuable football is to society as a whole. Football clubs and their Community Foundations and Trusts stepped forward when they were needed most and provided vital services to huge numbers of people, many of whom may not have had any contact with the clubs previously.

“The online conference will share some of the fantastic and often undervalued work that these Community Foundations and Trusts have done.”

From 9am to 12:00pm, we will bring case studies, interviews and discussion from some of the leading organisations in the UK who will showcase the work they do whilst an expert panel will discuss the importance of their work and what the future holds as we emerge from the pandemic.

Aaron Gourley, editor of fcbusiness, added: “fcbusiness is very excited to be working with Geoff Wilson Consultancy on the Football in the Community Online Conference. Since the pandemic began we have championed the work undertaken by Community Foundations and Trusts across the country.

“For many years, these Foundations and Trusts have worked tirelessly in their local communities to provide outreach services and help improve the lives of those in need. We want to showcase some of the fantastic work that has, and continues to go on and the Online Conference will be a great way to do that.”
