Middlesbrough FC Team Up With Matchsaver Pitch Protection

Middlesbrough Football Club has taken delivery of Matchsaver Air Roller Covers at the club’s Riverside Stadium to help protect the Championship club’s pitch from the harsh North East elements.  

The Riverside Stadium’s location next to the River Tees can provide challenging weather conditions for the groundstaff, particularly during the winter months. Therefore Air Roller Covers were purchased to help protect the pitch from potential disruption from bad weather.

The club also needed the air roller covers to run goal to goal, and not sideline to sideline, which is the more usual configuration. Matchsaver Air Roller Covers are modular so they were adjusted accordingly, and delivered just as the club requested. 

Middlesbrough’s Head Groundsman Tony Bell stated: “Matchsaver supplied us with a full set of Air Roller Covers for our Riverside Stadium Pitch at short notice, due to severe flood warnings. We are very pleased with the covers that have ensured all our fixtures went ahead, despite encountering the wettest February on record.

“We now use the Matchsaver covers to protect our pitch on a regular basis, and the team at Matchsaver continue to provide us with helpful, ongoing support.”
