February marks National Heart Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness of cardiovascular health and the importance of life-saving equipment.

Thanks to the Red Sky Foundation’s generosity, four brand new defibrillators have now been installed around the external footprint of St Mary’s Stadium, making vital life-saving equipment accessible to supporters, staff and the wider community.

The defibrillators have been gifted by Sheffield Wednesday supporter Paul, widely known as ‘Tango-man’, in loving memory of his daughter, Lauren.

Determined to ensure Lauren’s name and legacy continue to save lives, Paul launched the #OneInEveryCorner mission — a nationwide campaign with the ambitious goal of installing a defibrillator in all four corners of every one of the 92 Football League stadiums across the UK.

Andy Darbyshire, Head of Event Safety and Security for Southampton Football Club, said: “We are incredibly proud to work alongside the Red Sky Foundation in support of the One in Every Corner Campaign.

“Having publicly accessible defibrillators around St Mary’s Stadium is a vital step in helping protect our supporters and local community. We are honoured to play a part in keeping Lauren’s legacy alive and supporting such an important, life-saving initiative.”

Sergio Petrucci, Founder and CEO of Red Sky Foundation, said: “These defibrillators can have a huge impact on cardiac arrest survival rates, and this campaign will enhance the already robust safety standards in place at St Mary’s.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Southampton Football Club to the growing list of clubs taking part in the initiative.”
