Swansea City Launch New Mobile Optimised Website

Swansea City Football Club has today announced the launch of their revamped website which is now powered by Clubcast: a platform from digital partner Other Media. This will allow the club to continue to produce great content for their fans and now efficiently publish it to the mobile-optimised website and mobile app, as well as other formats in the future.

Other Media currently provide Swansea City’s official club app which has been shortlisted for seven major industry awards since its launch in 2017. The partnership now sees both the mobile app and the newly-designed, mobile responsive website powered by one CMS through Clubcast.

All the normal Swans content is still available on the website to keep the Jack Army both at home and abroad updated with life at the Liberty, but now with an improved user experience.

With over 80 per cent of visitors viewing the official site via a mobile or tablet device, the club has focused even more on improving the small screen user experience. The revamp was also made in conjunction with supporters through their advice and feedback on the club’s Digital Focus Group.

Led by the club’s Head of Commercial, Rebecca Edwards-Symmons, the group consists of digital professionals within the club’s loyal fan base. They were fully engaged in the new website design process and previewed the site before the launch.

The new site isn’t just easy to navigate, but it is intuitive in relation to what is important on that given day. On a matchday, for example, the main hero position on the homepage will evolve into a live status to incorporate the popular match centre with build-up, team line-ups and minute-by-minute text and commentary. It will also enable international fans to log in to SwansTV LIVE to see all the match action.

The Match Centre provides live updates before, during and after the game, post-match reaction from the manager and players along with a match report and photo gallery.

On top of minute-by-minute updates from the Swans, the site now also has all the latest scores from other games, so the Match Centre gives you all you need to know from the day’s events.

The live Match Centre will be hosted on the website from around 90 minutes before kick-off.
