United For Success: UEFA Unveil New Strategy For The Future Of The Game

UEFA today unveiled United for Success, a new strategy that sets out our vision, values and objectives that will guide the organisation from 2024 to 2030.

Launched at the UEFA Congress in Paris after extensive consultation with our national associations and the wider European football community, United for Success will kick off this July, building on the foundations of UEFA’s existing strategy. It will provide UEFA, as well as the game’s other key stakeholders, with a clear direction and ambitious targets over the next six years.

Aleksander Čeferin, UEFA president said: “In developing our strategy for 2030, UEFA has, once again, reflected on its aspirations for the future of European football and the positive contribution that football can make to wider society. The result is a clear vision for ensuring the game continues to flourish throughout the continent, reaching and inspiring people of all generations and reinforcing positive values at every level of society.”

The new strategy was unanimously approved by the UEFA Executive Committee and reaffirms our commitment to open competition and the European sports model, to transparent decision-making and to staging the best sporting events in the world. We also want to use the power of football to help society and ensure that our sport is accessible to everybody who wants to be a part of it.

United for Success will provide a roadmap to help us achieve each of these goals over the next six years, protecting the game we all love for the benefit of current and future generations.

Seven strategic priorities of United for Success

1) Be at the core of society

2) Ensure opportunities to all, from grassroots to elite

3) Strengthen the game’s fundamentals

4) Work together to the highest governance standards

5) Organise world-class competitions

6) Maximise the potential of women’s football

7) Pursue a culture of sustainability

Karl-Erik Nilsson, UEFA first vice-president and UEFA Strategy Steering Committee chair added: “We have seen the progress made under the current UEFA Strategy which has proved to be an invaluable tool. However, all plans need to be refreshed to ensure they are suitable to take on the challenges ahead. By 2030, we want to see more people playing all types of football, more supporters following matches, and more revenue to reinvest back into the game’s development. In this regard, this new strategy will detail actions that ensure both the men’s and women’s game continue to grow from strength to strength.”
