David Beckham's Miami MLS club has appointed Paul McDonough as its first Sporting Director.

Working closely with the Futbol Miami ownership group and reporting directly to Managing Owner Jorge Mas, as well as, Owner and President of Football Operations, David Beckham; Paul will be responsible for building the club’s player roster and leading its sporting operations.

 

 

Paul brings extensive experience to the team having most recently held the position of Vice President Soccer Operations at east coast club, Atlanta United. “To be able to join the expansion franchise in Miami at its inception is truly exciting. I am looking forward to working with Jorge and the entire ownership group to build a team that represents the very best of soccer.” said Paul.

Owner and President of Football Operations David Beckham, pictured above, said, “Paul is the first hire for our club and his appointment marks the real start of our journey in building, not only the team but also the team spirit of Miami MLS. Paul’s soccer experience is world class and he will help us to create a globally recognized team that we can all be proud of.”  

 

Paul will be responsible for building the Club’s player roster and leading its sporting operations including player acquisitions and talent development. Working closely with Jorge Mas, Paul will oversee the Miami MLS stadium’s and training ground construction..

 

Miami MLS is Major League Soccer’s 25th Club.
