Manchester City Launch Collaborative Kit With Noel Gallagher
English Champions Manchester City have revealed a new kit that has been co-designed by Noel Gallagher to mark the 30th anniversary of the Oasis album ‘Definitely Maybe’. They wore the ‘Definitely City’ kit for the first time in the opening Champions League game of the campaign at home to Inter Milan.
Both Noel and Liam Gallagher are high-profile Manchester City supporters. The collaboration not only celebrates the iconic album but it also pays tribute to the city of Manchester. It will be worn in selective European matches this season.
City Have Made Excellent Start to Campaign
Manchester City are unbeaten in their opening five Premier League matches this season in what has been a fantastic start to their title defence, particularly away from home, with wins over Chelsea and West Ham. They are the 4/7 favourites in the Newcastle vs Man City odds, as they bid to continue their excellent form.
Pep Guardiola’s side top the Premier League outright betting at 11/10 at https://www.paddypower.com/football. They are vying for a fifth straight title victory this season, something that has not been achieved before in the Premier League era.
City were not very active in the summer’s transfer window, however, they were able to retain their big stars from last season. The one notable addition they made was for their former captain Ilkay Gundogan, who re-signed from Spanish giants Barcelona.
Champions League One of the Priorities in 2024/25 Campaign
The Champions League will be one of the trophies that Guardiola will prioritise this season. He will be hoping the new ‘Definitely City’ kit can bring them some luck in the Premier European competition.
City are one of the 36 teams involved in the group stage as you can see at https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/clubs. They will need to finish in the top eight in the table in January to qualify automatically for the last 16. If they are one of the teams ranked between ninth and 16th, they will go into a two-legged play-off tie.
Guardiola’s side lifted the trophy two seasons ago when they defeated Inter Milan in the final in Istanbul. They advanced through to the quarter finals last year but were beaten by the eventual winners Real Madrid, in a close contest that finished 4-3 to the Spanish side.
City have ties against Juventus and PSG to look forward to in the Champions League this season. The new ‘Definitely City’ kit will be worn in the away matches with those clubs. They are the toughest two games the English champions must contend with in the group stage.
Once the Champions League reaches the last 16, it will follow the same format as last season, with two-legged knockout matches until the final. This season’s final will be played in Munich on the 31st of May.
City fans will be hoping 2025 is a memorable year for them on and off the pitch. With an Oasis tour on the cards and the possibility of four trophies, there is a lot to look forward to for supporters of the Manchester club.
