Yanni Andreopoulos Joins Stellar Line-Up For PTI Digital Conference

PTI Digital have announced Yanni Andreopoulos – CEO of SeaBird Technologies and CCO/CMO of E1 World Electric Powerboat Series – will be joining the line-up of industry heavyweight speakers at its annual Conference at Edgbaston on August 12th.

Titled “SportsBiz 2.0: Could Covid enable the digitisation of our industry?” the day’s agenda will cover the experience of the previous 18-months and not only reflect on the agility, ingenuity and innovation the industry has had to demonstrate to cope with the challenges of the COVID-19 crisis, but also look forward to how we’ll now harness the power of data, digital and technology as ‘must haves’ in the new world.

Created by Formula E and Extreme E founder Alejandro Agag, alongside former director of motorsport at McLaren Rodi Basso and Dr. Raffaele Chiulli, President of the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM), the UIM E1 World Electric Powerboat Series launched at the Monaco Yacht Club in September 2020. The global series will compete on the ocean, rivers and lakes with a focus on driving forward an electric revolution in the marine industry.

Andreopoulos will be talking about the challenges of launching a new sport during a global pandemic and the role of digital technology in building connections with audiences as E1 Series moves towards its planned launch in early 2023.

A qualified lawyer by trade, Andreopoulos’ career in sport started at AEG Europe, where he spent nearly ten years running its Sports Event business. He then spent two and a half years as Commercial Director at Formula E before shifting into his parallel roles at E1 Series and SeaBird Technologies, who design and build the RaceBird boat used by E1.

Last month PTI announced that Charlie Boss, the newly-appointed Chief Commercial Officer at the Jockey Club will be speaking on the topic: “Should sports organisations behave more like media companies, and what does that actually mean?”

PTI Digital believes that the digital age represents an opportunity to utilize digital technology to create more stakeholder value away from just match/event day. The impact of the pandemic has highlighted the need to grasp the opportunity even more acutely and we will be exploring those themes on the day.

We are delighted to have secured a stellar line up of speakers and panelists (with more to be announced at later dates) but the primary focus of the day is to share experiences and ideas to help our industry bounce back even stronger from the challenges posed by the global pandemic.

Set in Edgbaston’s luxury hospitality suites and with the backdrop of Warwickshire’s Royal London 50-over clash with Somerset, there will be plenty of opportunities for networking and watching some live sport.

The day itself is open to all sports and entertainment venues, clubs, league and federations, is free of charge and will be subject to the usual Chatham House Rules. There will be no vendors present. If you would like to register to attend, please click here.

Who Should Attend?

C-Suite industry leaders at sports and entertainment venues, clubs, leagues and federations interested to understand more about how others have dealt with COVID crisis, how they’re preparing for the mass return of fans and how they’re thinking about their future commercial models.
